Artists DOUG
YOUNG and JASON ROBERT BELL will collaborate in a bizarre
circus of the absurd featuring chainsaws, ice sculptures, snowcones,
fountains, fire, topiary, cream pies and more. "Garden" is a performance/installation
that re-engages the age-old battle between man and nature by featuring
the basic elements of fire, water, earth and air as both foe and inspiration.
Developing
out of dialogue the two artists have shared over the last two years
"Garden" explores the question how can one continue to make "Art" today
that is both immediate and somehow mythic. The response is an unusual
amalgam of installation and action using all available talents and abilities
- balance, strength, endurance, speed, craft, construction and imagination
JASON
ROBERT BELL is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 1995)
and Yale School of Art (MFA 2000). He recently had a solo exhibition

is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 1995) and the Pratt
Institute (MFA 1997). He was recently instated into the Guinness Book
